As promised, we’ve posted at Fined Dining the latest map showing Florida’s 50 most-fined restaurants since Jauary 1, 2005.
As usual, we’ve got some interesting stories to tell in the data. Take the case of Bada Bing, for example. Yeah, you read that right. We’re guessing there are probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 20,000 joints across America called Bada Bing by now. If you’re oblivious to The Sopranos … never mind.
The BB we’re talking about appears to have two names roughly suggestive of the same theme. Take your pick; Bada Bing or Guido Murphy’s Cafe (we’re partial to the former). Different names, identical license numbers - SEA1620388 - and the same address - 2083 N. Powerline Road in Pompano Beach.
Frankly, this one slipped by us for a little while because it should have been on the 50-most fined map from the beginning. Records show Guido’s has been fined $3,900 for 11 violations since January 1, 2005. Bada Bing has been fined $3,000 for six violations. The combined total of $6,900 ties for number 40 on the map.
Heroes Night Club in Eatonville made its debut on the map. The state fined the place $4,000 for nine violations in September. Add that to the $2,800 fine for nine previous violations and they’re good for the 43rd position.
The Kentucky Fried Chicken located on Cinderlane Parkway in Orlando is a similar story. That place took a $4,500 fine for 12 violations in September to go along with $2,750 in fines for 16 previous violations.
