Fined Dining Tampa Bay

Better late than never we’ve posted the October 2007 map of Tampa Bay’s fined dining establishments.

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation had a relatively light month as far as Tampa Bay was concerned. Just 25 restaurants were fined a combined total of slightly more than $20,000 in October.

The big “winner” was a place called Mahuffers on Gulf Blvd. in Indian Shores, which got slapped with a $4,500 fine for six violations. Being naturally inquisitive, we looked up the place at the DBPR portal and got the distinct impression (judging by all the bright, red text) that Mahuffers managers and employees aren’t certified or trained as required by law. We noticed some stuff about live animals, fire extinguishers and electrical wiring, too. Not a good mix.

Remember, folks. Don’t go out to eat without first checking for your restaurant of choice at Fined Dining. Check the search tool to look up restaurants by name or city. We’ve got all the fined violators since January 1, 2005. Check the map of Florida’s 50 most fined since 2005 or browse our monthly maps of Tampa Bay.
