We’ve been hard at work the last few months or so on a major redesign of GoToTell.com and the results should be visible within 24 hours.
Because this sort of transition can take a few days to propagate throughout the Internet, you might not see a difference until the latter part of this week but we promise you this: the changes are unmistakable.
First, we’re dumping our user registration process. To describe the one we’ve got as cumbersome is far too charitable. We use more colorful adjectives to describe it but we’ll spare you those details and let it suffice to say that the new site will be more accommodating, faster and more intuitive.
The new site will be much easier to read, too. All of our bloggers will be visible on the home page and you won’t have to be a registered member to read them (who ever seriously thought that was a good idea, anyway). The entire layout will be more elegant and easier to scan at a glance.
The best of GoToTell will go with us to the new GotoTell. For example, you’ll still be able to look up Florida’s fined dining establishments and check multiple county jail files in a variety of different ways. We’ve got some cool new stuff in store, too. Watch for new bloggers, an off-beat video interface, and links to journalism you aren’t likely to find on your own.
Stand by. GoToTell is about to improve.
